Economic development happens in places and spaces. For a country to thrive in the world economy, it needs to have many competitive regions, cities and towns. For a location to thrive, it needs to shape a competitive advantage, it needs to upgrade, and local people have to innovate all the time.

mesopartner offers and shares the knowledge that local actors need to address this challenge. We develop innovative tools around territorial development, local economic development, cluster promotion, strengthening of local innovation systems, and related topics. We coach and equip practitioners. We conduct leading edge learning events for practitioners.

Innovation Management School for Ministry representatives in Latin America

In September 2011 mesopartner designed and moderated the Spanish Innovation Management School (IMS) for the GIZ and the UN-Economic Commission for Latin America in Bonn. The objective of the School was to encourage an interactive and learning-driven format that provides the exchange of experience between representatives from different ministries in Latin America using the German and EU experience in innovation promotion as a reference point for discussion. 2nd round of applications for JMS-Scholarship runs until 31st of March 2012

The scholar network of the JMS-Scholarship hereby announces  the 2nd round of applications for the Dr. Jörg Meyer-Stamer scholarship. Applications for research studies from students and practitioners should be send to Mrs. Ute Lutz before 31st of March 2012. The application requires the support of one of the scholars (click here for the list) who also takes over the supervision of the applicant´s research project. Applications without the support of one of the scholars will not be accepted.  
In 2011 the scholar network awarded the first scholarship to the LED expert Brian Wallis for his PhD research (click here for more information).  
In 2012 the scholar network will provide 2 scholarships, one in March and one in September 2012.
Mesopartner funds the JMS-Scholarship in honor of our late partner and founding member, Dr. Jorg Meyer-Stamer. It is our intention to further the work that was started by him by this initiative.
